Windows Azure Web Role Certificate Error

I need to create a Web Role in Azure with an https endpoint with a real SSL certificate (not self-signed). So I need my own domain, which I have, and have pointed it at my "me.cloudapp.net" URL via a CNAME in my hoster's DNS.I have purchased a certificate for that domain also. I need to upload that into my Azure portal for the web role, but I can't - Azure gives me an error when I try. The certificate came in the form of 2 zip files (I'm new to buying certs). One zip has 3 .crt files, and the other has 1 .cer file. Azure requires a .cer or .pfx, so I tried the .cer. It fail...

https windows azure site I have deployed

I bought a SSL certificate from GoDaddy yesterday. Everything went smoothly. This description helped out a lot!convert p7b to pfx for AzureBut, if you attempt to view the site, with https://www.website.com, it will redirect to www.website.com with no lock symbol or https. I have talked to GoDaddy support and everything looks good on their side. On the Azure side, I have successfully upload the .pfx file and configured the SSL bindings. What am I missing? Any advise is much appreciated. I followed the following step process when I was setting up SSL in Azure usin...

Authenticate with Azure Mobile Client LoginAsync method from UWP - Unauthorized

I'm using Microsoft.Azure.Mobile.Client, in Xamarin.Forms App, because I need offline synchronization in my app. In azure, I configure the easy tables in the App Service, and I need that only authenticated users modify the data, so I change the permissiones of the tables and set Authenticated access only for all options on permissions settings.Application registered on AAD Type: Native Home Page: https://appservice.azurewebsites.net/.auth/login/aad/callbackApplication ID: aca9a545-XXXXXXXXXXAllowed External Redirect URLs: https://appservice.azurewebsites.net/.auth/login/aad...

Fastest way to send large ( 1TB) data files overseas (Azure or OTS solution)

The requirement is to facilitate the transfer of large (1 TB) files from Europe to the United States as quickly as possible. How would I go about building something in Azure storage/networking? Or please point me to some OTS solutions so I can find out more. The use case is LiDAR data taken over seas needs to be transmitted back to East and or West coast US as quickly as possible. Sender may or may not be near a data center. Thanks Arch, Azure provides several alternatives as well depending on your scenario, it will also depend on how often are you going to transfer the d...

Azure Migrating Website Hostnames

I am trying to set up a secondary azure website in a different subscription. When creating the Custom Hostname for the new site location, I am forced to validate the hostname.Azure complains that the hostname is registered against a different CNAME and prevents me from adding it.This is true, but I don't care, I want this to swap over from the old website to the new one when the DNS records propagate.I the old IIS world, I'd have just added the hostname to two servers and when the dns pointed to the correct one, it worked. Now in Azure it validates that the Azure Hostname I a...

SMB access to on-premise resource from Azure Web App via Virtual Network

We have a setup where we have both VMs and Web Apps in Azure connected to our on-premise resources via a point-to-site virtual network. We have an folder on premise with access to Everyone open (both on the share and NTFS) and the Azure VMs that are on that virtual network are able to browse to the share without difficulty. The web apps are not able to access them however. I'm assuming the following line in this article explains the reason, but I'm looking to confirm this is not possible: The work required to secure your networks to only the web apps that need access preven...

What are the outbound rules requirement for Azure hybrid connection inside the on-premises server?

I'm configuring up an on-premise server connection from a web app in an Azure web app using Hybrid Connection. On my dev machine which goes through a proxy that has a quite flexible firewall, the hybrid connectivity is OK. I've been able to configure the Azure web app to connect to my dev machine. However, on one of my servers that sits behind a firewall with only URLs whitelist, the hybrid connection does not work. When I configure it in the hybrid connection manager, it says successful though. The Azure Hybrid Connection page in the Microsoft website only states that the on...

Naked domain support for Azure Websites

From the looks of it the new Azure Websites Feature still does not support hosting them under a naked domain such as example.com instead of www.example.com. Am I missing something? Azure Websites have now released support for naked domains. Websites that are run on Shared or Reserved instances does support naked domains through an A record. Domain management is available through the Azure management portal.Update 2012-10-21:I previously stated that free instances could rely on CNAME to redirect a subdomain to their free Azure-website, but this appear to be incorrect, at ...

Hosting root domain (mydomain.com) with Windows Azure Shared Website?

How to use RBAC in Azure for user in another tenant

I have some Azure Resources I would like to control access to via RBAC. This works fine for users in the same tenant, but I would also like to grant users in another tenant read access to some of my resources via RBAC?What is the best way to do this? Do I need to first invite the guest user via B2B, and then add RBAC to the guest user? Is there a way to do this for an Azure Group in the guest tenant -- (i.e. invite the Azure Group via B2B and then assign RBAC to the entire group)? What is the best way to do this? Do I need to first invite the guest user via B2B, and t...

I've created a VM of Apache Solr by Bitnami on Azure, specifying my username / password in the creation process .When i run : ssh my_username@my_vm_ip it worksBut in the web portal http://my_vm_ip/solr , a popup username/password appears . I use same credentials than SSH and it failsAny idea? The application password generated by the Bitnami VM is generated uniquely for each VM, and is shown on the application vm console:I'm not sure how you'd display the console login screen on Azure, but you can check the boot diagnostics log at least. The banner message is usually sto...

What are the differences between Hybrid Connection and the On-Premises Data Gateway?

What are the differences between Hybrid Connection and the On-Premises Data Gateway?Initially my focus is on Azure App Services (Web Apps, Logic Apps, maybe API Apps) connecting to internal web servicesI started checking out Hybrid Connections versus Service Bus Relay, but another member of the team mentioned the On-Premises Data Gateway which is coming from the Microsoft business application platform, so Power BI, Microsoft Flow and Power Apps So I'm now confused over the direction ... is the Gateway replacing Hybrid and Relay? I'm not totally sure about this but it see...

Azure WCF Service in a Web App rather than a Classic Cloud Service

I have created a Xamarin Android App that uses Azure for the back end. It seems that it would be better to host it in an App Service, but in Visual Studio 2017 Community, the only option seems to be to host it in a Classic Could Service. In VS, I created a Cloud Service project and added the WCF Project as a Role. Is there a better way to do this? If you can't use Visual Studio Web Deploy, you can use FTP to deploy your compiled project. The FTP information is located in the Overview blade of the App Service. In the same blade, you can also click on the Publish Prof...
